Your LinkedIn Introduction is the First Thing They See — Make It Count

In the digital world, we rapidly scan and move on. So do recruiters. But our eyes snap back to something of interest or to a search-related word or term. Your LinkedIn Intro (the first box at the top of your profile) needs to quickly grab attention and broadcast your brand. It is a small but powerful tool so craft it carefully:

  • Include a good profile headshot – if you are having trouble with this, consider a professional photographer that can capture a relaxed and well-composed image
  • Create a bi-line that describes who you are, and what you are about.
  • If possible, have your company and educational institution logos displayed
  • Have your personal contact information included in the Contact Info section
