Weekly Tip #32: During The Interview – Your Questions May Be More Important Than Theirs

Interviews are fact-finding missions for all parties concerned. The interviewer wants to find out more about you, your experience and if you’re a good fit for the company. Through well-considered and prepared questions, you should ascertain if this is the right company and opportunity for you.
- How does this position contribute to the short and long-term growth strategies of the company?
- What are the goals and objectives for this position? How will success be measured?
- In your opinion, what are the key factors for long-term success in this role?
- (If an existing position) describe the leadership style that has enabled the team to be successful.*Do you have any outstanding concerns about me or my background that we haven’t addressed?
Finish with a brief statement that explains why you are the ideal fit for this position and ask what the next steps will be in the hiring process.
