One of These Things is Not Like the Other — Your LinkedIn Profile is Not a Duplicate of Your Resume
Both your resume and your LinkedIn Profile contain a dated chronological work history; keyword-rich language that highlights both accomplishments and skills; and your education, certifications and patents. But the LinkedIn Profile’s “About” section adds the opportunity to illuminate what is special about you.
An excellent LinkedIn “About” section is your personal brand and the story of your journey. It explains who you are, what you’ve done and where you want to go. Your LinkedIn profile should read like your talking voice and illustrate your career choices as well as your personal influences. It should also include a photo, volunteer activities, recommendations (for you, and yours for others), accomplishments and interests.
